I just had a fun week. I bought my new laptop, which is working much better than the old one, and I attended a Halloween Party. The party was at a professor’s house, so it was fun seeing everyone outside of an academic atmosphere. I also got a chance to talk to Dr. Patterson about the legal consulting work he does. I’m very interested in this, so I hope to learn more. My only concern is that it takes a lot of time traveling. Evidently it’s not uncommon to be away from home for four months at a time. This would definitely be an issue.

Countdown: 621 days, 68 pounds.

T and I spent the weekend in Indianapolis. I am a big marching band geek, so I just had to go to see the State Finals at the RCA Dome. While we were in town, we visited the hotel across the street from where our reception will be. Her mother said we should check it out and see if it would be an acceptable place for our guests to stay. It was a Hilton, so of course it was nice, but it was kind of old. We think it’ll probably be okay. It’s about $100 per night, but we can probably get it to be a bit cheaper if we reserve a block of rooms.

On Good Friday this past April, I decided that I was going to make a conscious effort to lose weight. I was doing great for a while, eating healthy and exercising on a regular basis, and I lost about thirty pounds. Now that I’ve started school again, it’s been more difficult, but I’m still doing my best. My continued weight loss has been like a roller coaster ride. Some days are great, others aren’t. Fortunately, I haven’t gained any weight back. In fact, I’ve lost a couple more pounds, but nothing substantial.

When T and I got engaged, I decided that I wanted to lose 100 pounds by our wedding day. This is proving to be more of a challenge than I thought. I’m living by myself, so if I cheat, no one knows. Therefore, I’m going to lay it all on the table, or at least on the blog in this case. Here goes:

Countdown: 631 Days, 76 Pounds
