Cakes!

Posted on Nov 22, 2007 under Wedding Poll | 5 Comments

Okay, here’s the deal.  Since we’re in graduate school, which keeps us very busy, we are planning a lot of the wedding during our breaks when we have a bit more time.  Over this break, we started getting ideas for cakes.  We have found six different ones that we like.  I’ve put a collage of them together.  Please click the thumbnail below and it will take you to a bigger version of the picture.  They are numbered 1-6 so you can tell us which one you like the best!  The numbers are in the upper left hand corner of each picture.

Disappointing

I’ve spent the past few days getting ready for a presentation that I gave today.  It didn’t go very well.  I’m writing a paper about how grassroots campaigns have changed in the new millennium, and I think my paper is going to be very good, even though my presentation of the paper was terrible.  It just wasn’t organized very well.  I organized it using an informative pattern rather than a topical pattern, which was a mistake.  It made my presentation very difficult to follow.  Even I got lost.  Oh, well.  It’s not graded, but we had to do it so we could get feedback on our topic.  At least I got feedback.

The Rings

Well, Taryn and I did it.  We bought the wedding bands.  Andrew’s Jewelers was having a great sale, so we just went ahead and did it.  We were at the mall playing with the puppies and we just happened to stop by the jewelery store.  I now understand why dad likes to avoid that place!  You really never know what you’ll end up doing, even if you “just know” you won’t buy anything.  Taryn and I talked tonight and we decided that we would wear the rings for a week to make sure we liked them.  We don’t want to end up with rings that we don’t really like because we’ll be wearing them for a looong time.  After this week, though, they’re going into the safe until the wedding.
